Cosmetic Surgery for Facial Rejuvenation
Various elements can affect the appearance of your skin. The environment, your skin care routine, age, and sun exposure. With the increase in leisure time and the practice of taking numerous vacations a year, there has also been a dramatic increase in damaging sun exposure. More and more people in their 30s are looking to cosmetic surgery to improve the appearance of wrinkles that were caused by sun damage.
Plastic Surgery Possibilities
When you are considering wrinkle removal to help rejuvenate your face, there are a variety of helpful cosmetic procedures to choose from. Each one has certain facial flaws that it is especially good at improving. As you consult with your cosmetic surgeon, he/she can assist you in deciding which procedure or procedures will give you your desired results. Cosmetic surgery possibilities include such procedures as eyelid surgery, a face lift, Botox injections, collagen injections, facial peels, and laser surgery. Each of these cosmetic procedures varies in recovery time, expense, and the level of intrusiveness.
The Cosmetic Surgery Options
Choosing to have a face lift or eye lid surgery means that you will have a longer recovery time because actual surgery will be necessary. These two options do a superb job of dramatically improving your appearance by removing excessive skin and fat deposits.
The Injection Options
Receiving one of the injection options alleviates the need for actual plastic surgery. These procedures have an extremely quick recovery time, but do require you to receive regular treatments since they are temporary solutions. Botox works well for reducing the appearance of lines that are caused by facial expressions. Such lines include those around your eyes, sometimes referred to as crow's feet, brow furrow, and forehead creases. Collagen is great for reducing the appearance of wrinkles around your lips and eyes.
Skin Resurfacing Options
Skin resurfacing is good for improving sun damaged skin, improving the appearance of acne scars, and removing pre-cancerous skin growths. A chemical peel uses one of several possible chemicals that literally make the top few layers of skin peel away. Varying strengths of chemicals get results for a different amount of time. Dermabrasion is better for deeper scars and wrinkles. The skin is made to feel numb, and then the top layer of skin is scrubbed away with a high speed rotating brush. Laser surgery uses waves of carbon dioxide to vaporize the top layer of skin. Some swelling and "crusting" of the skin is all normal after any of these cosmetic procedures. Special ointments to help the skin to become soft again will need to be used for 7-10 days. And the redness of the skin could take several weeks to diminish. Because the underlying new skin will be lighter in appearance for awhile, using sunblock would be even more important than usual.
